Newly refurbished facility to showcase automation solutions and deliver comprehensive services.

September 29, 2016 – Universal Instruments recently held a celebration ceremony to mark the grand opening of its Asia Advanced Technology Center in Shanghai with the participation of more than 50 distributors, customers and guests from all over China. The company’s flagship Fuzion® platform and new Flexbond™ hot bar bonding platform were displayed to demonstrate the cutting-edge automation solutions to visitors.

Brad Bennett, Vice President of Global Customer Operations of Universal Instruments noted the importance of the modernized facility, stating, “As a technology leader in the electronics assembly industry, Universal Instruments is dedicated to set the industry benchmark for technology and customer services. Apart from providing superior assembly and automation solutions to our customers, we strive to offer the best post-sales services and technical support to meet our customers’ needs.”

In the newly renovated technology center, the product demonstration and training area has been expanded to enhance customers’ experience. Universal’s experts demonstrated how the Fuzion single-beam multi-function platform meets the challenges of high-mix environments, how Flexbond stands alone as a high-volume hot bar production solution, how Radial 88HT sets the standard for high productivity among radial insertion machines, and how the flexible DIMM feeder easily integrates to support volume odd-form requirements.

In addition, the Universal team highlighted the benefits of the Uflex™ flexible automation platform, which will be introduced to the Asia market in the first quarter of 2017. Leveraging a revolutionary cloud-based architecture, Uflex enables user-level custom programming and quick and easy reconfiguration. Uflex brings a dramatically shortened payback period, ultimate flexibility and simplified automation for a full range of automation tasks.

Dr. Sean Lu, Universal Instruments General Manager, Asia said, “It’s a priority at Universal to continue our expanded investment in Asia, particularly in China which is essentially the hub of electronics manufacturing. We have upgraded our Asia Advanced Technology Center in Shanghai to offer more comprehensive services to our customers as well as maintaining our commitment to the China market.”

Located in Caohejing Hi-technology Park, the Shanghai office is well supported by sound infrastructure and various community facilities. The Shanghai branch will continue to provide support on sales, technical issues and parts together with product training and technology seminars to serve customers in the greater China region.
